An early map of "Temixtitan" (Tenochtitlán, the predecessor of modern day Mexico City), probably drawn at the request of Hernán (he preferred Fernando) Cortés. It appeared in the Latin edition of his second letter addressed to the King of Spain, Charles V, which was printed in Nuremburg in 1524. The original letter was authored in 1522.
